1/13/15, At 1821, Captain 70 Requested 167 Rescue-Engine to Freeport VFC to standby in their station while they were working a structure fire at 904 Freeport Road in South Buffalo Twp (Armstrong Co.) involving a Box Truck that spread to a Commercial Structure. As 167 Rescue-Engine marked enroute, 220 Chief (S.Buffalo) requested 167 Rescue-Engine divert to the scene. 167 Rescue-Engine along with the Squad and Engine made the call with manpower. 167 Rescue-Engine was placed at the Alpha Delta corner and provided fire suppression for the front of the structure. 112 Engine was also requested and laid a supply line into the Rescue-Engine. 167 Rescue-Engine had master streams in place and multiple hand lines were stretched. Units had to battle freezing temperature and icy conditions on scene, which made establishing a water supply a challenge. Medic 114 was requested to the scene as well for EMS standby and rehab. Lower Kiski, Pioneer, 114 and 70-1 provided rehab for the units on scene. Units operated on scene until around 2330 before being released by Command. Multiple Departments were requested including 167-110,169 and 112 from Allegheny County. 220 Chief held command throughout the incident. Thanks to Frazer 160 and Richland 241 for covering our station while we were out!
